2020 Conference Canceled.

Dear Early Childhood Educators,

The 2020 Celebrating Young Children Conference Committee sadly must announce the cancellation of this year’s conference planned for March 21, 2020 at UNO.

Yesterday, we received news from Chancellor Gold of the University of Nebraska-Omaha regarding the status of operations at UNO.

In his announcement the following was stated:

“The health and safety of our community continues to be our primary concern in this fluid situation, and we are making decisions following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), The Nebraska University Central Administration, along with state and county health departments. These decisions are being made to help mitigate and slow the spread of COVID-19 and to help protect the UNO and greater Omaha community.

Effective immediately, large group gatherings and events outside of classroom instruction are immediately suspended until further notice.  No gathering or meetings of more than 20 individuals shall be permitted.”

 

We agree that the health and safety of our community is most important.  We also realize in these difficult times, you, as early childhood educators and leaders are the backbone of our community and offer care and guidance to our families and children. Thank you for your strength and understanding. We will continue to celebrate young children and look forward to reconnecting with you in the future. Our hopes are to have a Teacher Play Center Celebration in the fall and we will keep you updated on any plans for the next year.
